Brenda Price, based in Detroit, Michigan, joined the Alliance in 2016, bringing 20-plus years of experience in leading mission-driven and community engagement initiatives. In her role at the Alliance, Brenda leads a team of professionals to advance the organization’s education and stewardship priorities, engage more than 15,000 volunteers from diverse backgrounds across the region, and produce measurable outcomes. Throughout her career, Brenda has advocated for opportunities that can change lives in marginalized populations.
Brenda has a successful history of developing public, private, and nonprofit partnerships that seek to solve systemic problems in marginalized communities. Her experiences include having been the Director of the Office of Urban Leadership at Marygrove College, Program Director at the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Organizer for the Michigan Democratic Party, and founding and running her own consulting firm: Price and Associates. She holds a M.A. of Education in Instructional Technology and a B.A. in political science. Brenda’s childhood experiences of camping and fishing on the Great Lakes fuel her passion for involvement at the Alliance for the Great Lakes.
