As Community Resilience Fellow, Charlie Corwin works in Southeast Chicago and Michigan City, Indiana to connect communities to their local water resources. Charlie manages a range of community engagement activities designed to understand how people view the environment around them and meet their interests with opportunities to get involved in protecting their waterways. Charlie has a teaching background and brings his passion for inspiring others and fostering learning to his work at the Alliance.

Charlie is currently a PhD student at University of Illinois at Chicago in the Department of Urban Planning and Policy and an adjunct faculty at School of the Art Institute, where he teaches a course on political ecology. He received his master’s degree in regional and community planning from Kansas State University.
