Glencoe Ravine Workshop

April 27, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Glencoe’s ravines are rare and beautiful.
Their tree-covered slopes are home to songbirds, butterflies, wildflowers and year-round foliage. They add scenic vistas to our neighborhoods and privacy to backyards.

But keeping ravines healthy can be a challenge.
They’re vulnerable to erosion that can wash away land and property value, undermine roads and bridges, damage sewer lines and increase pollution to Lake Michigan.

Learn how to protect Glencoe’s ravines and…
• How stormwater can harm ravines
• How local policies can help or hurt
• How to keep ravines safe and stable
• How the new Lake Michigan Watershed Plan could protect ravines
• How you can get involved

Join conversations led by Glencoe’s Sustainability Task Force and hear from experts from the Alliance for the Great Lakes, Daniel Creaney Company and the Chicago Botanic Garden. Light refreshments will be served.
