As the Alliance’s Vice President for Programs, Megan is responsible for internal program implementation and external advancement of the Alliance’s advocacy, research and relational work around Great Lakes and clean water issues.

Megan’s career has been dedicated to social justice causes: from education equity as a 6th grade Language Arts teacher in Newark, NJ; to healthcare access and payment reform as Senior Director of Operations at NYC Health + Hospitals’ accountable care organization; to serving as Managing Deputy Commissioner at the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH), where she managed the Office of Environmental Permitting & Inspections as well as oversaw a citywide cumulative impacts assessment and environmental justice action plan. Most recently, Megan served as Special Advisor for Implementation at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to assist with policy and guidance development, training, and complex case management related to civil rights compliance and enforcement.  

Megan holds a J.D. from NYU Law School and an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. In her free time, she is usually out enjoying Chicago theater or exploring the lakefront in her South Loop neighborhood with her daughter.
