Kevin has spent over 35 years in the field of Community Development. After more than a decade of community organizing and planning in Baltimore, Kevin started at Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) in 2008. LISC is one of the nation’s largest Community Development Financial Institutions. As their first ever national Program Director for their workforce development efforts he co-created the Financial Opportunity Center program model with other LISC employees and staff at the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
He then became LISC’s Senior Vice President for National Programs, where he oversaw staff that helped the LISC network of over 30 local offices implement strategies in a wide variety of program areas, such as the financing of Federal Qualified Health Centers, the incorporation of “Green” elements into community-development, neighborhood-based crime and safety organizing, as well as co-creating the workforce development and small business efforts of LISC. In this role, he supervised staff, provided strategic direction, fundraised and worked on legislative advocacy. Kevin currently works with the LISC Cleveland office.
Kevin received his Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is married to his husband of 23 years, and they have two children ages 14 and 18. He and his family live in Cleveland, are avid boaters and spend a good part of their summer on Lake Erie, where he gets first-hand experience in the beauty and the clean-up opportunity that Lake Erie provides to the residents of Northeast Ohio.
