Vote by August 4 for the Great Lakes

July 14, 2026

Hands casting ballots.

Lake Superior needs your vote! The Minnesota primary election is almost here. Races up and down the ballot will affect Lake Superior, our drinking water, our health, and our wildlife.

Make sure your voice is heard in the Minnesota primary. Vote by August 11!

  • Start of Early Voting: Friday, July 24
    • Early Voting is the process that allows a voter to cast their ballot directly into a ballot counter before Election Day.
  • Last day to vote early in person: Monday, August 10
  • Absentee ballots must be received by: Tuesday, August 11

You can register to vote, get information on voting by mail, and find your polling location by visiting the Minnesota Secretary of State’s website at https://www.sos.mn.gov/elections-voting/

You can also register in-person at your polling place on Election Day. Reminder: all eligible adults will be automatically registered to vote when they get a state-issued ID.

Share this information with friends, family, and other members of your community so they can make their voices heard, too!

Want to learn where your candidates stand on Great Lakes issues? Use these resources from our Great Lakes Voter Toolkit:

  • How to research the candidates on your ballot. Shows how you can learn which offices are up for election, who the candidates are, where to connect with candidates, and how you can find out where candidates stand on the issues.
  • Questions to ask the candidates. Gives you questions you can ask candidates, for example, at town halls, about important issues affecting Lake Superior and our communities that depend on safe, healthy water.

Thank you for voting!
