Become an Adopt-a-Beach™ Team Leader

The Great Lakes need your help! Being an Adopt-a-Beach Team Leader is a fun and rewarding experience – get started today.

What is a Team Leader?

Team Leaders are volunteers that step up to organize and lead beach cleanups across the Great Lakes region. Team Leaders register cleanups on the Adopt-a-Beach site, recruit and organize volunteer teams, lead their cleanups, and submit cleanup litter data.

Are you ready to be our newest Team Leader? Host a cleanup with your friends and family, your local scout or school group, your workplace, or recruit community members and meet someone new! Our Team Leader resources make it easy to start your own Adopt-a-Beach cleanup.

Hosting a cleanup is easy

  1. Create a Team Leader account & schedule a cleanup
  2. Prepare for your cleanup
  3. After your cleanup

Note: Team Leaders must be 18 years old or older. If you are under 18 and would like to organize a cleanup, you MUST have an adult register and attend the cleanup as the Team Leader, but you may be involved with organizing, publicizing, and speaking at the cleanup. Please email adoptabeach@greatlakes.org with any questions.
